You may not immediately see the connection between a newspaper and a whiskey company, but they share a fundamental similarity: both use trees to tell stories. One mills timber into staves to construct barrels; the other turns it into pulp to create paper. Yet both mediums exist to engage their communities and capture moments in time. While the digital age has reduced the use of paper, the connection remains.
When we were approached by the Orlando Sentinel to create something in celebration of their history, dating back to 1876, we immediately had an idea.
The result is a limited-edition blend of fine bourbons, balanced yet as rich as the Sentinel’s storied past. To bring this to life, we incorporated a brand nearly as old as the Sentinel itself—Green River, founded in 1885 and widely advertised in newspapers throughout the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
To add further depth and character, we introduced stocks from an antique Armagnac cask at our facility, along with bourbon from MB Roland Distillery that we have aged in Pedro Ximénez casks for over three years.
This is a bourbon for the history books—a testament to what great friendships and a united community can create.
Cheers to you, Orlando Sentinel!
