Ceniza Del Valle
In the rugged hills of Durango, Mexico, where the resilient Cenizo agave flourishes at high altitudes, mezcal is more than a spirit, it’s a legacy. In the town of Durango, the Burciaga family has upheld this tradition for over three generations crafting mezcal with deep respect for the land. They continue to honor this heritage, harvesting only fully mature agaves at the peak of their 12 year life cycle to create Mezcal Apaluz.
This reposado mezcal marks our first exploration in aging agave distillate in oak. Rested for 364 days in barrels that once held Kentucky Single Malt, it gains lays of richness and complexity. The delicate balance of toasty oak, vanilla and malted fruit enhances the mezcal’s earthy, delicate character, bridging tradition and innovation.
Deeply rooted in history yet strikingly modern, this spirit tells a story in every sip, a tribute to the land, the craft, and the generations who have perfected it.
